Kendal - " Gateway to the Lakes"
Historic Kendal is the largest town in the Cumbria and is
also known as the 'Auld Grey Town' , the name refers to the
number of grey stone houses in the town. It is a thriving
town which doesn't wholly depend on tourism. Kendal has
excellent shopping, bars & restaurants.
Narrow yards and lanes branching from the main street
gives real character to the town. It is a ten minute drive
from the M6 and less than a mile from the National Park
boundary but is an ideal base to explore Kendal, the Lakes
and the Dales. Windermere is 8 miles away with easy
access then to Bowness, Ambleside & Grasmere.

a cottage feel and provides a cosy destination for a break at any
